Choosing a school is hard enough without wading through six government websites.
Fair to every school
A school in a poorer area is compared with schools like it, not with a grammar school in a leafy suburb. The score rewards what a school adds to its pupils, and the whole method is published.
Honest about uncertainty
Small year groups make results jump about. Every score comes with a likely range, and if two schools' ranges overlap we don't call one better than the other.
Plain English
“Strong pass in English and maths” rather than “grade 5+ basics”. Official names are kept in small print for anyone who wants them.
